The skeleton is a very important thing to learn about. do you know what would happen if you didn't have a skeleton?
The skeletal system of an adult is made of 206 bones! The bones are located in the skull, hyoid, auditory ossicles, ribs, sternum, vertical column, upper limbs, lower limb, pelvic girdle, and shoulder girdle. The bones are helped by joints to move. Without our skeleton system our body would be useless.
- It protects our vital organs like the brain, heart and lungs.
- It gives us our shape. Otherwise, we would just be a blob. (Not very attractive is it?)
- The skeletal system is the reason we move! Since the muscles are attached to our bones, when the muscles move, so does the skeletal system, so we move.
